About
The Journal Project is a Madison-based project created supply to the community with new ways to cope with stress and form self-identity through nature and journaling. These journals are placed in free little libraries throughout Madison East, designed to be used while in nature or any other place.

This project was created by Corey W as a service project for Malcolm Shabazz High School, but I hope to continue this project for as long as I can.

Beyond healthy coping mechanisms, another focus of The Journaling Project is to get Madison thinking about problematic injustices in our community. A few major problems are environmental racism, climate change, and stigma around mental health. In order to combat these problems, we need to first learn and reflect.
How Does It Work?
Writing in journals is a great way to reflect on your day, your stressors, your highs and your lows. Utilizing healthy tools like creativity is a good replacement for other unhealthy coping mechanisms that aren't as good for the body and mind.

Journals are private and secure; your own safe space. Think of it as a therapist at your fingertips.
